Spurs plotting £15million bid for Luis Fabiano

Tottenham will make a big-money move for Brazilian star Luis Fabiano if they qualify for the Champions League group stages, talkSPORT understands.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has told manager Harry Redknapp that he can only sanction a £15m bid for the Sevilla striker if cash from Europe's elite competition is guaranteed.
The Londoners lost the first leg of their Champions League play-off 3-2 at Young Boys on Tuesday night, meaning they must win the return clash at White Hart Lane next Wednesday.
Victory over the Swiss side will pocket Spurs £6m but a further £10m is on offer even if they fail to win a single game in the group stages.
Redknapp has stated his desire to bring in three players in order for Spurs to challenge for the title, but has failed so far to attract big names to White Hart Lane this summer.
Fabiano, 29, is the man the Spurs boss wants to bolster his strikeforce, which misfired during their Premier League opener against Manchester City.
A major factor in Tottenham's bid for Fabiano will come into play tonight, as the former Porto man will become cup-tied if he plays against Portuguese side Braga in the first leg.
Fabiano, who has previously declared his desire to stay at Sevilla, was heavily linked with a move to French side Marseille last week but the clubs could not agree a fee.
Redknapp has stated his interest in the forward throughout the summer but has said he believes Fabiano's £90,000-a-week wages could be a stumbling block.
But talkSPORT understands Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is willing to fund the transfer and has held talks with Fabiano's agent Luis Fuentes about personal terms should Tottenham get through their Champions League tie.
Fabiano was at first hesitant about the move but has since told Tottenham that he would be extremely interested in coming to White Hart Lane as they seek a top-four finish for the second season in a row.
Sevilla seem resigned to the Brazilian's departure and are on the verge of signing a ready-made replacement in the form of FC Twente striker Bryan Ruiz.
Fabiano has scored 62 goals in 127 games for the La Liga club but is interested in challenging himself in England.
