Former Arsenal defender set for Spurs switch

talkSPORT understands that former Arsenal defender William Gallas is due to have a medical at Tottenham Hotspur on Friday.

Gallas, a free agent since leaving the Gunners at the end of last season has turned down a number of offers from teams across Europe already this summer with Panathinaikos, Lyon and Paris St-Germain rumoured to have shown an interest in his services.

However now he looks set to remain in the Premier League with Spurs as they look to add experience to their injury-hit defence as they look to reach the the group stage of the Champions League side for the first time.

The France international has previous experience of the competition with both Chelsea and Arsenal.
