McLeish stays silent over move for Keane

Birmingham manager Alex Mcleish refused to confirm or deny his reported interest in Tottenham striker Robbie Keane, but has admitted he needs to bring players in this transfer window.

Birmingham bolstered their ranks in the summer by acquiring Nikola Zigic and former Arsenal playmaker Alexander Hleb, however both have failed to make an impact.

"I would like to do something as quick as possible," McLeish said.

"My past experiences of dealing in January are not great - you don’t get quite what you were looking for in the first place."

McLeish has also been linked with Lech Poznan midfielder Sergey Krivets and Boca Juniors Argentinian striker Pablo Mouche.
