Anzhi preparing £25m swoop for Sneijder

Anzhi Makhachkala are ready to make a £25million move for Wesley Sneijder.

Manchester United have wanted the Inter Milan attacker for the past three years and were close to signing him in the summer transfer window back in 2010.

A disagreement over his personal terms scuppered the deal but United have retained an interest in him.

Sneijder has recently clashed with Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni regarding his fitness, which has led to further talk he could leave the San Siro.

The Holland international believes he is fully fit and ready to feature for Inter but Stramaccioni is unconvinced.

Inter are also mindful of their financial situation and some club officials believe the former Real Madrid star should be sold to trim their wage bill.

This has alerted United once again but Anzhi are also keen. The wealthy Russian club, who pay Samuel Eto'o an extraordinary £350,000-a-week, want another superstar to help push the club forward.

Sneijder's Inter contract expires in 2015 and it is understood the 28-year-old will not sign a new deal, which means a January exit is possible.

And despite being flattered by United's interest two summers ago, he could opt for Anzhi and one last bumper payday.
