Rossi never wanted to quit Villarreal for Spurs

Giuseppe Rossi insists he's happy at Villarreal after the Spanish club rejected a deadline day bid from Tottenham for the striker.
The bid, which Harry Redknapp has confirmed was around £35m, fell short of Rossi's £42.5m release clause and Villarreal decided not to cash in.
Anticipating interest from other clubs during the window, Villarreal increased Rossi's release clause in the new contract he signed last week.
And the Italy international has confirmed that he had no intention of leaving Villarreal in January after penning his new deal.
"It was a joy to sign," he told Spanish journalists. "Because things are going well for me and I'm scoring goals and that's what I am looking for.
"I am very happy and content, as I celebrate my birthday and I have also renewed at Villarreal. I really cannot ask for more."
