English golf stars Matt Fitzpatrick and Tommy Fleetwood to represent Team GB at Paris 2024 Olympic Games

Matt Fitzpatrick and Tommy Fleetwood have been selected to represent Team GB at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The English pair will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Justin Rose who took gold in the men's event in golf at Rio 2016 - the sport's Olympic return after a 112-year absence.

Fitzpatrick will make his Olympic debut at Le Golf National for the Paris 2024 Games - which is LIVE on talkSPORT in July - while Fleetwood represents Team GB for the second time after playing at Tokyo 2020.

Team GB Paris 2024 Chef de Mission, Mark England said: “We are thrilled to have two golfers with such tremendous pedigree representing Team GB this summer.

"It is great to welcome Matt into the fold for what will be his first Olympic Games, and to have Tommy back with us after his time competing in Tokyo 2020.

Team GB Golf Team Leader, Nigel Edwards added: “I’m delighted to welcome Matt and Tommy as our male golf athletes travelling to Paris.

"Having worked with Tommy in Tokyo, I know how much he enjoyed representing Team GB, and he will be looking forward to returning to a course that he knows very well.
