Eddie Hall announces he’ll make his MMA debut against current World’s Strongest Man in February

Eddie Hall will make his mixed martial arts debut in 2024.

The Beast is set to take on Mitchell Hooper, the current World’s Strongest Man, in Qatar next February at an event promoted by Finishers Championship.

Their website reads: “Get ready for the fight event you’ve been waiting for. Launching 2024.

“Top MMA fighters settling the score on unfinished business. 12 match eliminator. $300 million USD prize money. Celebrities. Royalty.”

Hall captioned his latest Instagram post: “BEAST VS MOOSE - Feb 2024. Who you got?”

The post features pictures and clips of the future opponents training together.

Hall is seen throwing punches and fighting off a submission attempt from 'The Moose' who is yet to publicly comment on the fact he will be making his MMA debut in a few months’ time.

In March 2022, Hall lost his boxing debut against fellow former strongman Hafthor Bjornsson after shedding more than six stone in an epic body transformation.

Since then, he has bulked up and been flirting with the idea of trying his luck as a professional sumo wrestler following a training session with Britain’s best.

However, Hall quickly moved on to a new sport and was seen training with UFC heavyweight contender Tom Aspinall who recently taught him the basics.

He'll now put what he learned to the test against a fellow novice.

Hall was crowned the World's Strongest Man in 2017, becoming the first British winner in 24 years – but he hasn’t competed in the tournament since.

Scottish strongman Tom Stoltman kept the UK’s hot streak going when he won back-to-back competitions in 2021 and 2022 before being edged out by Hooper earlier this year.

Hall will look to avenge his compatriot in the cage early next year.
