Sick slow-mo footage shows Max Holloway break Justin Gaethje’s nose and send him flying across the cage

Max Holloway seized the BMF crown in emphatic fashion at UFC 300 on Saturday night.

'Blessed' sent Justin Gaethje face-first into the canvas with a spectacular overhand right with just one second to spare in the fifth round of the 'Baddest Motherf***er' title bout.

It was a devastating end to arguably the most eagerly-anticipated fight of the night - one that saw Holloway pocket a staggering bonus from UFC President Dana White.

It came after the Hawaiian had already done plenty of damage to his opponent in a surprisingly tactical first round.

The tentative opening round ended with 'The Highlight' rushing his opponent only to be met with a nasty last-gasp spinning kick that whacked him on the bridge of his nose.

The brutal kick sent him flying across the cage and slow-mo footage showed Gaethje's nose broken and gushing with blood.

"Justin staying on his feet here is outrageous,"; one fan said in response to the slow-mo footage.

Gaethje's compromised nose was clearly causing him issues at the start of the second round but he managed to recover.

But Holloway stepped on the gas in rounds two and three to almost get the former interim lightweight champion out of there.

Holloway's masterclass continued into the fifth and, with ten seconds to go, bit down on his mouthpiece and pointed to the middle of the canvas to trade blows in one final chaotic sequence.

The former featherweight champion was able to find his target with one second left, landing a spectacular right hand to become the new BMF champion in front of a packed-out T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Colour commentator Joe Rogan called it the 'greatest KO of all time' as Holloway picked up the Performance of the Night bonus alongside Jiri Prochazka.

It was a performance befitting of the 'BMF' and afterwards White admitted it was one of the biggest 'holy s***' moments of all time.

Speaking specifically about Holloway vs Gaethje, White said: "It was incredible. That fight sucked the f***ing life out everyone tonight.

"The next two fights everyone was sat there looking dead, it was a massive adrenaline dump.

"People always ask me what I do, I sell holy s*** moments for a living.

"That was the ultimate holy s*** moment of all time. If you were at home, if you were in a bar or you were live tonight there is no bigger holy s*** than that.

"That's why Max Holloway is beloved - and Gaethje. How many times have you seen a fight when you know the guy is winning, they click the ten-second thing and then the guy puts his hands up and just moves around?
