Staggering $446 million difference between contracts of Super Bowl QBs Patrick Mahomes and Brock Purdy

Patrick Mahomes is a two-time Super Bowl champion and paid like it.

The 'Next Tom Brady' now makes more football money than Brady, with Mahomes receiving a record-setting 10-year, $450 million contract from the Kansas City Chiefs.

With Mahomes' Chiefs now set to play the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas on Sunday, February 11, it's the perfect time to take a look at the contract value of Mahomes' QB counterpart.

The pay disparity is staggering.

Brock Purdy was the final pick of the 2022 NFL Draft and "Mr. Irrelevant" is also paid like it.

Despite leading San Francisco to the NFC Championship game as a rookie and taking the No. 1 seed 49ers to the Super Bowl this year, Purdy is only set to receive $3.7 million over a four-year period.

While that figure would be life-changing for almost every hard-working football fan, that's a relatively small amount in the NFL and couch change when compared to Mahomes' mammoth $450 million deal.

Mahomes is making $446 million more than Purdy.

On annual average, Mahomes is also making $44 million a year more than a former Iowa State QB who had to wait until the No. 262 overall draft pick to hear his name called.

Mahomes had another elite playoff game in Kansas City's 17-10 road win over Baltimore in the AFC Championship, completing 30-of-39 passes for 241 yards, one touchdown and a 100.5 rating.

“All he’s done since he’s been here is play at an elite level,” running back Christian McCaffrey said. “Everything starts with him. We’re lucky he’s our quarterback. He takes a lot of heat for absolutely no reason.”

Purdy will have a chance to prove his physical and financial worth vs Mahomes in Las Vegas,

The better QB will win the big game -- and it might not all be about money in Super Bowl LVIII.
