Serena Williams and Nicole Kidman among sporting and Hollywood royalty to watch Simone Biles win Team USA gold

A number of big name stars were spotted watching Simone Biles storm to Olympic gold with Team USA at Paris 2024.

The most decorated gymnast of all time shook off her Tokyo 2020 heartbreak to join her teammates in sealing first place in the women’s gymnastics team final on Tuesday evening.

Bar a brief wobble on the balance beam, veteran star Biles pulled out mind-blowing showings on all apparatus to bag her first Olympic gold since Rio 2016.

While Biles shone, numerous other stars watched on as the 27-year-old picked up her 38th career medal (eight Olympic and 30 World Championship medals).

Tennis legend and four-time Olympic gold winner Serena Williams was seen beaming at her fellow American from the stands.

Compatriot and iconic swimmer Michael Phelps fist-pumped the air in celebration halfway through her performance, too.

Actor's Nicole Kidman and Natalie Portman were also spotted smiling on at the talented gymnast.

Biles has already earned herself a number of A-list supporters, including rapper Snoop Dogg, who wore her face on a t-shirt in the previous round.

The American star grinned as she stepped off her final piece of apparatus, floor, which earned a huge reception from the crowd in the French capital.

She scored 14.666 on her final floor routine to seal her country’s winning medal.

Their final score was a whopping 171.296.

Meanwhile, Italy placed in second, with Brazil finishing in third and Great Britain and Northern Ireland following closely behind in fourth.

"After I finished vault I was relieved - I was like, woo, there's no flashbacks," said Biles. "I did feel a lot of relief and as soon as I landed vault I knew that we were going to do this."

Biles is the oldest female Olympic champion in any gymnastics event since the Soviet Union’s Polina Astakhova did so in 1964 at age 27.

Biles is also the first female since 1968 to win two all-around titles and the oldest women’s all-around gold medallist in 72 years.

This isn’t the only gold Biles can pick up this summer, either, with the individual competitions yet to come and another four medals up for grabs.
