Exclusive – Farah denies he will snub Commonwealth Games
Mo Farah has denied he will snub next summer’s Commonwealth Games.
Stories on Wednesday morning claimed the double Olympic champion would miss the event in Glasgow.
But he has told talkSPORT he has yet to decide whether or not to compete.
Speaking on the Colin Murray show, he insisted: “The headlines in all the papers today [Wednesday] said Mo might not be doing the Commonwealth Games, but that’s totally not true.
“What I said was, as an athlete and a long distance runner, you’ve got to take one race at a time. My aim is to do the London Marathon, get that out of the way and then, depending on your body and if you have any injuries, that’s when you think about your next race.
“There’s still a good chance [I’ll be at the Commonwealth Games] but I’m not saying that’s my aim. My aim is the London Marathon. I’ll get that out of the way and see I feel. It’s 26.2miles, it’s a long way!”
