Simon Jordan may finally have met his match when legendary player and manager Graeme Souness joins White and Jordan next Monday.

The popular morning show has been cranked up another level with the addition of the former Liverpool and Newcastle United manager with fireworks expected when Jordan and Souness, alongside host Jim White, bring their knowledge and judgement to the airwaves.

Although the addition of Souness may turn out to be an explosive one, Jordan is very much looking forward to the arrival of the Scotsman and was complimentary about what he will bring to the show.

Jordan told talkSPORT: “You listen to Graeme that gives you gravitas, opinion, and a rounded perspective from understanding how a manager views the world, from how an elite player views the world, how he sees it now and how it saw it before. What he looks at and when he’s working with people in the boardroom.

“So you’re going to get a really eclectic view from Graeme and I should imagine some pushback on some of my views.”

White is used to dealing with Jordan’s frank and forthright opinions but adding one of football’s tough talkers into the mix could mean he may have to occasionally keep his whistle close by.

“You might have met your match here,” White jokingly told Jordan to which the former Crystal Palace owner replied: “Well listen, I’m yet to do it.”

Jordan continued: “I’m looking forward to it, I’ve spoken to him briefly about two or three weeks ago so I think it’s a great signing by the talkSPORT guys.

“He adds something very different and that’s what we want. We want to keep evolving the show.”

Jordan revealed an anecdote involving Souness from his time as owner at Selhurst Park.

“I always remember watching Graeme when I first bought Crystal Palace, he was Blackburn Rovers manager. I have never ever seen anybody give a fourth official so much abuse, so much volume at full tilt,” Jordan revealed.

“And what I like about him is that he will not back down from his opinions and he can stand them up so I’m looking forward to that and for us it’s another opportunity to have some grown up broadcasting.”

Monday’s show is not to be missed and it all kicks off at 10am on talkSPORT.
