WWE legend Shawn Michaels could make incredible return to ring at 59 as star makes bombshell admission

A WWE Hall of Fame legend could be set for a sensational comeback to the ring after dropping a hint to another returning star recently.

Shawn Michaels, now 59, hasn’t wrestled in any capacity since 2018 and the horrific tag team match he shared with Triple H, Kane and The Undertaker in Saudi Arabia.

That match was a one-off cameo return for the Heartbreak Kid who, in truth, hasn’t competed anything close to consistently since 2010 when his career was ended in a storyline ‘Streak v Retirement’ match against Taker at WrestleMania.

The veteran performer remains one of the biggest names in the industry and is an influential figure behind the scenes, effectively overseeing the next generation of talented wrestlers as the de facto boss of NXT.

Michaels may firmly have his feet under a WWE desk but, some 15 years after his last proper match, could the unthinkable be set to happen? If what one former WWE star claims is true, it could certainly be a possibility.

Former NXT tag team Champion Fandango, now wrestling for TNA Wrestling under the moniker JFC, says Michaels told him he has ‘one or two’ matches left in the tank.

JDC returned to his old stomping ground of NXT earlier this month as part of a three-year talent crossover deal between WWE and TNA, and caught up with the Showstopper for what turned out to be a revealing chat.

in the UK this week, giving a sensational answer to the question of who would be his dream match if he returned to WWE longer term.

He commented: “You know who I talked to last week, who said he’s got one or two matches left in him? Shawn Michaels.

“Yeah, and that’s a guy, he’s the reason why I got into the business… It will probably never happen, [but] that would be my dream match, with Shawn.”

Despite the revelation and the fact the legend even got physical with WWE star Kevin Owens last month, it would indeed be a monumental moment in WWE history if Michaels did pull back on the tights one more time to wrestle him or anyone else, but it hasn’t stopped the man formerly known as ‘Mr WrestleMania’ from getting the itch.

Just last year, Michaels : “There are times that I wish I could just get in there with them once, again - to help them.

“You’re in there with a certain somebody, and then this feel, this feel, this mysterious feel that we always talk about, whether we’re talking to one another or we’re talking to young talent, they’re able to grasp it.

“It’s something that eludes them. They hear about it, but you don’t know it until you’ve felt it. There are times that you know I can make them feel this in that moment if I could just be out there with them.”

Michaels holds a legitimate claim to being the greatest wrestler of all time. After wrestling for the AWA among others, he first appeared in WWE in 1987, eventually settling there permanently in the early 1990s.

He enjoyed tag team success as one half of The Rockers before his singles career exploded in the mid-90s, winning his first WWE Championship at WrestleMania in 1996.

The Texan ended his career as a four-time world champion in addition to being a Royal Rumble winner, and tag team title holder.
